| CHARACTER COUNTS | “Everybody Counts” focuses on teaching the values of diversity, acceptance, and inclusion of people with disabilities. “Character Counts” introduces the six pillars of character: Caring, Citizenship, Responsibility, Trustworthiness, Fairness, and Respect. | ENVIRONMENTAL | Involve Westbrook families in various recycling projects as well as provide environmental awareness all year. | Brandi Sulak bransulak@aol.com |
| LEAPIN’ INTO LITERATURE | Purchases new books that are read to the first grade childern over one of our winter months. One day a week during the given month the first grade children can choose to stay inside in place of recess. There will be a parent volunteer in the classroom to read to the children and discuss the story with them. | READING INCENTIVES | This committee will send home sheets so that the children can track the amount of reading they do over a designated period of time. If their sheets are turned in by the deadline and meet the required reading time they will receive a pizza coupon.
